Feature · Flags

The three-second read, and the tag that follows it back to the job.

A badge is a quick flag your office decides to turn on. It tells the tech the posture to walk up with, and — if you want — it applies a tag to the job in ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro so the office can find those jobs later.

Why tags matter

A badge on a brief helps one tech on one visit. A tag on the job helps the office for the rest of the year. Filter your scheduling software by Storm and you have the list of every visit the April hail drove. Filter by Priority and you have the visits worth a manager's ride-along. Filter by Veteran and your marketing knows who to thank.

Set the tag names once under Settings › Badges — use names that already exist in your software if you have them — and every badge writes its tag at the moment the brief is built.

Setting them up

  1. Decide which badges are on

Most shops turn on Priority and Storm on day one. Veteran is common. PACE only applies in eligible counties — ask support to enable it for yours.

  2. Write the Priority rule

Job types, repeat customers, or both. Keep it to the visits that genuinely deserve more preparation.

  3. Name the tags

The exact tag names in ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro you'd like each badge to apply. Optional — a badge can show on the brief without writing anything back.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Will ServiceScout overwrite my existing tags?

No. Notes and tags are added, never overwritten. Your team's notes and tags are never touched.

Which badges apply to Jobber and JobNimbus?

Badges show on the brief for every account. Tag write-back to the job is available for ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro today.

Should technicians bring up PACE at the door?

No. The PACE badge is a financing-fit flag for the office and the dispatcher to know about. Financing decisions belong to lenders; nothing in ServiceScout approves, denies or scores anyone.

Can the Storm badge trigger a tag for roofing only?

The Storm badge fires for any trade when a recent event is close. Which tag it writes — and whether it writes one at all — is your choice under Settings › Badges.
