ServiceScout plugs into Housecall Pro natively. Every booked job surfaces a Pre-Call Brief and 90-second Scout Audio in the HCP mobile app — and in the office view of the job record. Webhook-based, ~5 day rollout, no rip-and-replace.
Housecall Pro is your operations platform — scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, payments, the mobile app your techs already live in. ServiceScout sits on top and adds the customer context: who they are, what their home is like, what approach will work. Two layers, one workflow.
If HCP tells your tech where the job is and what's been done before, ServiceScout tells your tech who they're about to meet. The two layers stack — they don't overlap.
No code on your end. Your HCP account owner authorizes ServiceScout once via the HCP API. Everything else happens server-to-server.
Your HCP account owner generates an API key from Settings → Integrations and shares it with us during onboarding. We register a webhook against HCP's job.created and job.updated events. Standard HCP public API access. Revocable any time.
We sync your job types, your tech roster, and your customer fields so the brief format matches the data you actually have. Most HCP customers have non-standard custom fields — we map those during a 30-min sync call.
For every booked job, ServiceScout assembles the brief in roughly 10 seconds using licensed property data, public records, and the seven indicator sources. The completed brief is written back to HCP as a note + URL on the job, surfacing natively in the mobile app.
Your tech sees a "Pre-Call Brief" chip on the job card in the HCP mobile app — same one-tap experience as opening estimates or invoices. They can also receive the brief via SMS or email if you prefer that delivery channel. Configurable per-tech.
Most HCP customers are receiving Pre-Call Briefs on real jobs within 5 business days. The rollout is faster than ServiceTitan because HCP's API has fewer surfaces to configure.
30-minute kickoff with your ServiceScout onboarding lead. We confirm your HCP tenant, account structure, custom fields, and persona preferences by trade. Your account owner generates the API key.
ServiceScout generates briefs on 5-10 recent jobs from your HCP dispatch so you can see the output format, validate the data quality for your service area, and tune Persona Headlines.
The webhook activates. Every new job booked in HCP from this point forward generates a brief automatically. Your office team sees the brief link appear on job records.
The "Pre-Call Brief" chip activates in the HCP mobile app. We run a 20-minute walkthrough with your dispatch and your senior techs. Most teams are using briefs the same afternoon.
Briefs go to all techs. We monitor brief quality and approach feedback for the first two weeks and adjust Persona Headlines or recommended-approach phrasing based on what your team finds useful.
No. ServiceScout sits beside Housecall Pro and adds Pre-Appointment Intelligence on top of HCP's dispatch, scheduling, and invoicing. Your team keeps using HCP exactly as they do today.
The Pre-Call Brief just appears as a chip on the job card in the HCP mobile app, alongside the existing job details. Nothing about your HCP workflow changes.
Three places, depending on who's looking:
HCP web app (office view): A "ServiceScout Brief" link appears in the job notes section. Dispatchers and office staff can click through to see the full brief before the tech rolls.
HCP mobile app (Pros): Your techs see a "Pre-Call Brief" chip on the job card. One tap opens the full brief; another tap plays the 90-second Scout Audio.
Email/SMS: Optional. Some operators prefer the brief delivered to the tech's phone the morning of the job in addition to the in-app chip. Configurable per-tech.
Webhook-based. When a job is created or updated in Housecall Pro, HCP fires a webhook to ServiceScout. We generate the brief in roughly 10 seconds and write the brief link back to the job record via HCP's public API.
No polling, no rate-limit pressure, no daily sync delays. Brief generation happens entirely on ServiceScout's infrastructure — the only thing written back to HCP is a small note and URL on the job.
Any current Housecall Pro plan with API access works — that includes Essentials, MAX, and any Enterprise plans. The integration uses HCP's public API and webhook endpoints, both available on every paid HCP tier.
If you're on a legacy plan without API access, contact us — we have alternative integration paths via Zapier and direct CSV-based dispatch sync that produce the same brief output.
They complement each other well. HCP's Wisetack integration lets your techs offer financing on jobs $500-$25,000 directly through the HCP app. ServiceScout's brief tells your tech whether financing is the right pitch for this specific customer.
For a household profile that needs it (mid-tier income, working family, 660 credit), the brief recommends leading with "$89/month" — and your tech runs the Wisetack flow. For a premium card holder profile, the brief tells your tech to skip financing entirely — the same Wisetack integration sits there unused, because the customer was always going to write a check.
Why this matters: Wisetack data shows financing adds 15-25% to average ticket size when offered to the right customer. The brief makes sure your tech offers it to the right ones — and doesn't burn premium customers with patronizing financing pitches.
