Feature · The audio

Ninety seconds, in the tech's name, on the drive over.

Reading a page in a truck is a bad idea. Scout Audio says the brief out loud — the play, the win condition, the homeowner, the house, the opening question — so the tech arrives prepared without ever taking their eyes off the road.

Why this exists

The problem: briefs that never get read

A tech leaves one job running late for the next. The brief is sitting in a text. They don't open it, or they skim it at a red light, or they read it in the driveway with the homeowner watching through the blinds. The information was there; it never became preparation.

Audio fixes the moment, not just the medium. It plays while they drive. It uses their name, so it sounds like a dispatcher talking to them and not a robot reading a form. And it follows the same structure every time, so by the third day the tech knows what's coming and listens for the part that matters.

What it does for you

How Scout Audio works

Made from the briefAutomatic
When the brief is built, so is the audio. Nothing to click, nothing to record.
In the tech's namePersonalized
The audio addresses the assigned technician by name. If the job is reassigned, a fresh audio is made for the new tech automatically — the tech who hears the wrong name just needs to refresh.
Two ways to hear itPlay button or phone call
A play button on the brief, or a phone call that rings the tech's verified number and plays the audio when they answer. The phone call is built for techs who will never open a link.
Your voice, your choiceSettings › Voice
Choose the voice your crew hears — for the whole shop, or per tech.
Listened is stampedSent · Opened · Listened
Every send is stamped. The Sent tab on the Dispatch board and the technician's profile show whether the audio was played. If a tech never listens, you'll know — and the Morning Brief will tell you.
How techs actually use it

The three-minute routine

Do I have to read the whole thing? No. Audio on the drive, card in the driveway. The rest is there if you want it.

  1. Audio on the drive

Hit play as you pull out of the last job. Ninety seconds, twice if you want it. You now know the play, the win condition and the opening question.

  2. Card in the driveway

Thirty seconds on the Before You Knock card. Biggest opportunity, biggest mistake to avoid. Say the opening question in your head once.

  3. Knock

Run the play. Confirm it with the three questions. If the answers don't match, switch — the card tells you where to.

Who it's for

Owner / GM

What the owner gets

Proof the brief was actually consumed — the listened stamp — and a delivery method that works for the tech who hates their phone.

Dispatcher / Manager

What the office gets

A delivery channel that needs no app and no reading: send the call at On My Way and the brief lands while they're driving.

Technician

What the tech gets

Preparation without homework. The play, the win condition and the opening line in their ear, in their name, before the truck pulls up.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How long is Scout Audio?

About 90 seconds. Long enough to carry the play, the win condition, the homeowner, the system and the opening question; short enough to hear twice on a fifteen-minute drive.

What if the audio says the wrong technician's name?

The job was probably reassigned a minute ago. Refresh — a new audio is made for the newly assigned tech automatically.

Can it be delivered as a phone call?

Yes. The phone-call channel rings the technician's verified number and plays the audio when they answer. It's the option for techs who will never open a link, and it's hands-free.

Does the audio include the financial indicators?

The play never uses the household picture, and on accounts set to office-only the technician-facing brief and audio carry the play, the win condition and the card without the financial indicators. Who sees what.

Can I choose the voice?

Yes — one voice for the whole shop, or a different one per technician, under Settings.
